London Day Eleven- Free day number 3

So today was another free day. Not much occurred on this fine day so this blog post should be short. I got to sleep in today and that was wonderful! Though during the night at 12:08am my mother called me. I had tried calling her and hour earlier. It was a short chat cause international calls are expensive. But it was nice to hear her voice. I miss my parents a ton! Then I fell asleep until 11am. Unfortunately I was too exhausted to have any dreams. I love a good dream. Then I got up and ate some cereal, and got on the computer to finish my blogs. I was really behind. I then got ready for the day. At about 3pm I headed off for Paddington Station. I was determined to buy a Paddington Bear for my cousin's daughter. We adore her and I really wanted to get her something special. I headed off right when it started raining. I also was dumb and didn't put on better shoes so of course it was slippery. I got to the pharmacy near the station before I completely fell. I had no traction, slick floor made of granite or marble and down I went. I hit my knee and sat down on my bottom. While most would be embarrassed, heck I normally would be, I laughed it off and got up and continued into the station. I was on a mission. The Circle Line was unfortunately closed due to planned maintenance so I would have to take a longer route. I got on the Piccadilly Line and rode for about four stops where I got off at Piccadilly Circus. I don't know why but this is seriously my favorite station. I just love the name. I've never been out of the station so I don't know what it offers, but the name is so catching! So then I changed to the Bakerloo line, and no I am not making up the name. I laugh whenever I say it. I got on and off at Paddington, which is about 6 stops. I quickly made my way to the cart. I bought a really cute Paddington Bear. He has his goulashes, his blue raincoat, red hat, and suitcase! He is adorable and I hope she likes it! I also bought the book that goes with it, so she will know the story. I then saw a smoothie place and I couldn't resist, I missed Jamba Juice and Orange Julius. I also got a sandwich at UpperCrust. This place sells great baguette sandwiches. I was happy. I then headed back down to the tube to make my way back to the flat. When I got out it was raining even harder and the sidewalk was completely wet. I walked slowly and carefully back because I really didn't want to get hurt again. I made it to my flat where I enjoyed my sandwich and a relaxing chat with my dad on IM. After my chat with him I watched Persuasion, the version with Amanda Root. It was pretty good, and I've been craving a Jane Austen movie since I went to Bath. While I didn't do much today I had a great day. Sometimes you just need a day to take a break. We have been running around seeing so much, and I've enjoyed it all, but I'm human and to kick back and not have to worry is wonderful. Tomorrow is another free day, and I am really excited for it! I'm going to have tea, shop, and go to have fish and chips! I'm sorry this blog is so short compared to my other ones, but I didn't do much. And since I didn't do much I am going to post pictures from other places that I wanted to post in the past.

Paris day 27- Best day in Paris so far!

Best day in Paris so far!      Elyse and I left at 930 for the Catacombs, and who should I see in line? My senior year French 2 Student teacher, Mr. Schelagel! I feel bad, but I don't know how to spell his name. I was shocked. Who expects to see someone from Boise, Idaho who was your teacher traveling abroad? He was on the phone and asked for me to hold on for a second. Elyse headed to the back of the line to hold our spot. I waited as he got off the phone. It was crazy. I couldn't get over the fact that I was seeing someone I knew in Europe! He introduced me to his wife and two other family members. He asked why I was in Europe and I told him I was studying and told him about Utah State and the Interior Design program. I also told him about how my french has declined after he asked me about it. But he totally understood. He understood that after a year with speaking no french and only having two years of schooling it would decline. We talked about what to do in...

My 5 Drawings

So as today rolled in my study abroad journey came to a close. Today all the assignments were due and all the work was done. It was a great summer and full of work. I'm proud of everything I did and I hope you like it as much as I did. But I wanted and needed to share my top drawings with you. Thanks for taking this journey with me! It's Over Already?

To be honest, it isn't over yet. I still have one more final. But being at the end of the semester, one becomes reflective. I have completed one year at University of Idaho. I never thought I'd be here. I thought I'd be finishing my third year at Utah State. I would be in their interior design program and I'd be graduating a year from now. Not everything goes as planned. While it still stings at times, I am so happy to be where I am. Idaho has welcomed me and made me a part of the community. Sometimes, I still feel a little awkward, but this is the place I'm meant to be, at least for now. This year has been full of ups and downs. The awkward, I'm not a freshman but still new, was how I started. I now walk around campus knowing exactly where I'm going. I had times when I was sure I couldn't complete the tasks asked. Two classes in particular scared me. Materials and Specifications of the fall semester, and Architecture 154 of spring semester. I've c...
