Barcelona Day 34- Last Day in Barcelona

I woke up at 3:30 AM so I could say goodbye to Laura, and Danielle who were leaving for Italy. I wanted to say goodbye to my London roomie. I said goodbye to them and went back to bed until I had to get up to get ready for my day. I had a wonderful breakfast of scrambled eggs, fruit and some bread. Then I met up with Jessica and Benae. We all knew what we wanted to get for our families. We were on a mission. We headed past the tent city of protestors. One had a tree house! That was cool to me. We saw this street with a couple of stands were local artist were selling their work. Jessica bought a clock for her architect brother. And I bought a plate for my mom, as did Benae. It was green, red and yellow/orange. It was perfect! It matched our house colors and everything. Now I just had to buy for my brother and dad. I was lucky my list wasn't as long as theirs. We went down the Rambla and down the streets we had been on our first night in Barcelona. They wanted to go to Shana where you could get really cheap clothes. We also ate out for lunch. It took us forever to try and find a place where we could all eat. We didn't want to try the sea food dishes. That didn’t appeal to us. We went in a place were we could get personal pizzas and sandwiches. It was good and we bought massive water bottles because it was another hot day in Barcelona. After that we went to I don't know how many souvenir shops trying to find soccer jerseys for Benae and a beer mug for me. But I didn't want a soccer one. And that was almost impossible to find. I did eventually find one luckily. We found some great souvenirs! It was fun too. We got to spend our time knowing where we wanted to go and what we wanted. We spent probably 40 minutes trying to find a mask place for Benae. Unfortunately we couldn't find it. We then went and got our last gelato. It was wonderful. It was just a great late morning early afternoon. We walked forever but shopped and found the gifts we needed. We then headed back to the Hotel were we packed and thought about going to the beach were a bunch of the group wanted to get together for our last day. We also thought about going to Gaudi's Bone building but it was 18 euros to go through and we eventually decided not to. We eventually decided we didn’t want to go to the beach. We talked for a couple hours while they packed their bags. Mine were pretty much packed. They had the early shuttle to the airport. I had the second one. We were starting to get hungry and there was this place across the street that we had our eyes on. It always smelled good when we passed and so we said why not. We walked in and it was deli like but full of authentic Spanish food. We went crazy. It was our last night and we wanted to try a lot of it. So we went all out. We decided we would all get something different and share with each other. I bought a Chicken Queso, and a drop like thing that had chicken, but was doughy. Then I got a ton of deserts. I got a cake, it was so good. Then I got another squash like cake with thick chocolate frosting. It was different but delicious. There was also an apple tartlet. I think the Queso was my favorite. Though there was another thing Jessica got that was so good. She also bought this drink her brother told her to buy. It was also amazing! We were in heaven. We were really full but we loved everything. We were so happy we decided to go here and get a lot of food. It was nice to have authentic food but not be the fish authentic food. The girls who worked there were really nice. The one who helped us didn't speak a lot of English but she was able to explain things and she was super nice. If I ever go back to Barcelona I am going to that restaurant again. And we got so much food for a really great price! After food we went back to the hotel and hung out before we went our separate ways to finish our last minute stuff. I took my last shower in the really nice shower and packed my shampoo and got most of my makeup kit packed. My suitcase was ready to rock. I then got on the computer and checked my flight. I called my parents to check on them and told them what time my flight was supposed to get in. Then I went to bed.
This was what I bought for us.

Paris day 27- Best day in Paris so far!

Best day in Paris so far!      Elyse and I left at 930 for the Catacombs, and who should I see in line? My senior year French 2 Student teacher, Mr. Schelagel! I feel bad, but I don't know how to spell his name. I was shocked. Who expects to see someone from Boise, Idaho who was your teacher traveling abroad? He was on the phone and asked for me to hold on for a second. Elyse headed to the back of the line to hold our spot. I waited as he got off the phone. It was crazy. I couldn't get over the fact that I was seeing someone I knew in Europe! He introduced me to his wife and two other family members. He asked why I was in Europe and I told him I was studying and told him about Utah State and the Interior Design program. I also told him about how my french has declined after he asked me about it. But he totally understood. He understood that after a year with speaking no french and only having two years of schooling it would decline. We talked about what to do in...

London Day Nine- Bath

Today was really good. I loved visiting Bath again! It is pretty much exactly how I remember, except no painted animal statues. We arrived in Bath to start our short trek to the Roman Baths. I didn't get to do this last year so it was something exciting and new to visit. I have to say though I wasn't completely impressed. I mean it was cool to imagine what it looked like in its glory days and to hear what the people of Bath believed, but compared to the Greek baths not all that exciting. There was a waterfall with steaming hot water that was pretty dang cool! Where the water flowed there was orange sulfur ruminates that grew. It caste the coolest glow on the water and ceiling.  I was really impressed with how beautiful that was. I also enjoyed the rooms with the mosaics because for me they held the most artistic aspect of the baths. I then made my way to the main pool that is now green from algae, because it is no longer covered like it was back in the day. The surface was rath...
